I've spent 23 years in engineering and test — 20 of them in test and control hardware and software, including 10 as a National Instruments subject-matter expert. Requirements through architecture through delivery, on programs where being wrong is expensive.

All of it here in Huntsville, which matters more than it sounds like it should. I know what a CDRL package costs you. I know why the compliance matrix eats a week. I know what it means when the only person who understands a test sequence retires in March. I don't need three meetings of context before I'm useful.

Why AI, and why now

Because the tools finally got good at the specific thing that eats engineering organizations alive: structured document work with objective acceptance criteria. Test reports. Compliance matrices. Traceability. Procedure drafts. These are not glamorous problems. They are just where the hours go.

I'm not interested in helping you "adopt AI." I'm interested in finding the two or three workflows quietly costing you a headcount, and building the thing that fixes them. Sometimes the answer turns out not to involve AI at all, and I'll say so — that's the most useful sentence I can offer and no vendor will ever say it to you.

Why one person and not a firm

The person who scopes the work is the person who builds it. Nothing is lost in the handoff, because there is no handoff. There's no bench to keep utilized, which means I have no incentive to find you a bigger project than you need — and I'll tell you when a Teardown is enough and a Pilot would be waste.

The company

Alexander's Test & Control Solutions is an Alabama LLC carrying professional liability and general liability coverage. ATCS is the current name for independent work I have been doing considerably longer than the LLC has existed. I work under a written SOW, with acceptance criteria agreed before anything starts.
